Synopsis Ed, a middle-aged attorney, decides to give up his dull life to pursue a career as a hired escort. Unfortunately, the clientele for a middle-aged male prostitute leaves a lot to be desired.
Production Information Ken Axmaker, Jr., the writer/director/editor/actor of Man-Tute, decided to venture back into the art of digital filmmaking in December 2004. He had a difficult time casting the lead role, Ed, because of the improvised acting required to complete the short. After three attempts, chemistry was made on screen between the selected actors, and the film’s final product instills the vision of the director. Man-Tute was filmed with a Canon XL1 3CCD digital video camcorder. Sound was recorded with a Sure condenser microphone looped through a Yamaha MG10-2 mixing console. Editing was completed with Final Cut Pro. |
